SEWARD: Les habías mostrado nuestro hogar por estos dos meses de vacaciones? Pues aquí va….

Seward es una ciudad pequeña, pero con de todos, un museo/acuario  marino maravilloso, fiordos, y glaciares.

This is our home for the two months of vacation.  Seward is a small city on the eastern side of the Kenai Peninsula that offers a lot, a Marine museum/aquarium, fiords, and glaciers.

ROAD FROM ANCHORAGE TO KANAI PENINSULA: Ahora  entiendo  por qué Alaska es el destino favorito para una gran mayoría de  personas en pasar sus vacaciones.  

Now I understand why Alaska is the favorite vacation destination of many.

CHICKEN

CHICKEN, ALASKA: Aunque parezca gracioso  el nombre, pero tiene su historia. Los mineros del campamento  quisieron llamarlo Ptarmigan (otro pájaro). Pues les fue difícil deletrearlo, por lo que decidieron llamarlo Chicken  (pollo) al lugar.

Even though it sounds funny it has its history.  The miners wanted to call it Ptarmigan but nobody around could spell the word so they decided on Chicken. 

TOP THE WORLD HWY

TOP THE WORLD HWY: Así se llama la carretera, y tiene toda la razón, es estar en la cima del mundo con un paisaje espectacular.  Y te conecta directamente  con Alaska.

The name of the highway that connects Dawson to the northern most land border crossing with Alaska.   The spectacular views really make you think that you are on the top of the world. 

 

DAWASON CITY

DAWSON CITY: Es lugar Histórico Nacional y Cultural muy bien conservado como en sus inicios alrededor de 1890. Sus calles sin pavimentos,  las aceras de madera, las acomodaciones muy rústicas. Rodeado por el  río Yukón y su vida salvaje.  

Is a historical place national and cultural landmark, very well preserved in turn of century arquitecture.  The streets are unpaved, the elevated wooded sidewalks and the accommodations very rustic.  The Yukon runs alongside, it cutting through mile wilderness on all sides.
